Sliding Gate Gear Rack

Automatic sliding gates require toothed gear rack to engage with the automatic gate motor cog or pinion. Gear rack is extremely strong and hard wearing. Consideration to the mounting position is important as the gear rack will be attached to the bottom frame of the gate.

The most common type of gear rack used is nylon coated steel gear rack which comes in 1m and 33cm lengths. The mounting tabs can be downward or upward facing and the teeth can also be downward or upward facing. Steel gear rack comes in 2m length and is generally only used on commercial applications. There is no mounting tabs on steel gear rack and it must be welded to the gate.
